Diorama

This diorama of player movement visualizes Roger Federer (left) and Paul-Henri Mathieu’s (right) movement during their match at the Swiss Indoors in Basel, 2012, which Federer won 7-5, 6-4. The video shows the advantages of pulling the temporal component of the data apart, stretching it along the vertical axis of the visualisation, which enables users to clearly see changes in player movement over time. The movement paths at court level represent the start of the match, the movement paths at the top represent the end of the match. The colour scheme used represents speed of movement: white = slow, red = fast.
